Here’s what it looks like magnified. It becomes very acidic when introduced to water. If your car gets covered in pollen and it sprinkles rain (or dew collects on your car overnight), you want to give it a good wash as soon as possible.

The pollen gets so thick on the rear windshield of my car here in Alameda it can be tough to see through it. Alpine White is “eggshell” after a good dusting.

I’ve given up. My clean car lasted about 3 hours before it acquired a yellow tint.

It’s like a bunch of undersea mines all clumped together

I’m by the bottom of Mt. Tam, I get it all over my dark blue W123 and it’s very annoying. I just washed it for a trip out to Pt. Reyes, can’t be seen all crusty like that! We get a good coating here when the weather warms up.

Or perhaps get better paint. Or more bees.

Why wash it when it’ll get covered in pollen again? That’s my logic.
