Because George Michael’s solo career is about 100x better than anything he did with Wham!

Aaaaand here’s some Limp Bizkit, just before they went Full Retard. First album was great.

This cover makes me unspeakably angry. It starts out so well then completely loses me when the chorus kicks in. It’s an example of how not to do a cover, because it sounds like they’re taking the piss of George Michael rather than honoring him.

Say what you will about Alien Ant Farm’s cover of Smooth Criminal, but they clearly did their research and meant nothing but for it to be a fun gesture of respect to Michael Jackson, and Michael absolutely adored it.

It’s also a great way to advertise the CVT on the Subaru Rex, as if a 660cc 3-cylinder supercharged engine with intercooler wasn’t already enough of a draw.

Hey I’d buy any car that advertises with George Michael.

I love the Smooth Criminal cover.

Then again I also love the Fall Out Boy cover of Beat It with John Mayor on solo duties

I agree. Ska bands tend to do good covers because they’re so much different than the originals. That’s also why I liked the AAF version of Michael Jackson. Here’s another one I used to enjoy — again because it was so different from the original. NSFW lyrics:
