Which Lamborghini crash? The white modified Countach that wrecked a track day. !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . You can still see preview-sized images of the crash if you !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .

Kinja'd!!!

I guess they removed it out of respect for the owner..maybe the Mid Night Club itself? Is the Mid Night Club even active anymore? I understand and respect why they did it...but’s a little too late to pull a punch once the cat’s out of the bag. It’s not going to stop people from posting their own pictures on platforms like Instagram, Tumblr, and etc. Speak of Tumblr, !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . This crash did happen at what appears to be an open track day, there’s going to be spectators with camera phones...especially if a modified Countach with Mid Night stickers shows up.

No point in hiding the truth. The driver(s) (he was passing another car on the inside into the turn) ran out of skill, something broke, or shit happens. At least he crash his modified Countach on a track and not on the public expressways doing 300+ kph. Stuff is going to happen on track given enough time, drivers, and horsepower. If anything, at least the owner/driver was responsible enough to bring it to a track.

Same here! I found the article was a good read, along with the excellent photography, as it’s a reminder that not everything is going to be perfect with automotive ownership, no matter the vehicle. Crashes, thefts, and nature happen.

Aw, I missed the article. I wonder what’s up with that Mid Night sticker. The story goes that they disbanded permanently, in accordance club rules, a long time ago. If this wasn’t one of the original cars, then it must have been a wannabe. Still, I hate to see a Countach all banged up like that.

I read that article last night. According to the end of the article and comments they are going to look for the background of the Countach. The comments section was saying that he wrecked on the first lap trying to dive bomb the 911 in the turn, and it went bad. The 911 driver was the one who peeled the Mid Night stickers off the windshield. A commentator claimed both the Countach and 911 owners were former Mid Night Racing Team members. It was an interesting story with great pictures of the Countach before it crashed.

Thanks for reminding me of that part of the article! Yeah, I still don’t get why they peeled the stickers off the car unless it’s going to be crushed. The pictures are already out there of the wreck with the stickers visible. Peeling them off is going to raise more questions and interest in the situation rather than hide it.

They author ended the article saying it was going to be rebuilt, because of how valuable they are now. He said he’d much prefer to see it driven, wrecked, and then repaired; than just setting in a climate control collection.

There were people commenting that the group is still active, and it actually didn’t end. Someone mentioned seeing the 911 at certain nights at a rest stop off one of the highways.

It is very interesting that they pulled the story. They must know someone in the club, and they asked them to take it down.

Exactly what I was thinking. I think SH was contacted by the ‘Club and took it down out of respect.

The club or a few of its former members.

If you go to the electric swapped accord story and look in the comments you’ll find this.

Reader: “Hold on what happened to the Countach Mid Night Club post?”

Paddy: “At the request of the club, and out of respect for the owner, the post has been taken down.”

Reader 2: “After reading what happened to the Mid Night Lamborghini, I’m so thankful I downloaded some of the pictures for a background. That car should be remembered, its stunning. Can you give a little more explanation to why it was taken down?”

Paddy: “The club asked politely, we responded in kind out of respect for them.”

Reader 2: “Understandable. Interesting that the club as a whole exists enough that they would comment on it.”

So this must mean what others were saying in the Lambo article that the club must still in some form be active. If they are able to request speedhunters take the article down. Where’s tokyobayaquaskyline at?

I haven’t seen TBAL in at least 2.5 years. SH did an article about Promodet’s Blackbird recreation and there was a shell of a black 930 sitting outside with the correct TBK front bumper covered in numerous rock chips. I ask for him to chime in if the car was a ‘Club member (given the original Blackbird ran a TBK front bumper and there were only a handful of those produced) and he never answered.

I’ve read the article and I think it’s safe to assume that the 911 and Countach drivers were original members.

I’m pretty sure no one in the car scene in Japan would dare put a Mid Night Club sticker unless they were original members or the cars were originally owned by a member. I could be wrong though...

I’m super late to this party but to answer your question about that Porsche being Blackbird, it probably wasn’t, as the original Black Bird was maroon, and that looks to be a dark grey/black.
