We went to Cremona and saw the Violin museum. My son and I liked this drop top Peugeot. Traveling in a group is strange, and this one is a little weirder because it was put together by my kids’ music teacher. There is a lady in the group who does not wear shoes. I like to think I am pretty tolerant of quirks, but this is odd.

I am horrified to think about what she is walking around in. She is traveling with her elderly mother and a cousin. The mother got very ill, and was taken to the hospital with pleurisy. What strikes me as crazy is that she left her mom at the hospital and continues with the tour. We are now a 5 hour drive away from the town where mom is hospitalized, and apparently the hospital does not want to release her in time to catch the plane Tuesday in Milan.

We brought my mom on this trip, and if she got sick, there is no fucking way I would leave her behind in an Italian hospital by herself. Am I crazy, Oppo, or is this some looney tunes shit?

‘infinity infinity’, so that’s two-infinity.

Sounds like that one is looney-tunes batshit crazy.

Not wearing shoes of any sort in a foreign country. Leaving your sick mother in a hospital, again, in a foreign country.

I hope she got the insurance to fly her mother back when it’s time that the hospital releases her mother and I hope that woman doesn’t fly back to the U.S. leaving her mother there.

All of it is crazy.

I’d of contacted the the British Embassy/Consulate to get a translator, the tour operator to notify them of what happened and what is expected of them, the insurance to sort medical finances and arrange my stay in a hotel nearby and any expenses incurred and transport for the repatriation of my mother via private or commercial transport.

I certainly wouldn’t be doing the rest of the tour.

She’s obviously loony. I never travel with travel groups, they are almost always filled with the most random people that I otherwise would stay away from. I would never leave my sick, elderly mom in some hospital alone while I continued a tour.

Ooooh, a Mk1 Panda! They’re absolutely everywhere in Italy.

I know somebody with a 206cc in just that colour.

That lady is insane. You always need an advocate in a hospital. She would need a translator too.

I understand the not wearing shoes thing. It is not practical though too many places and things require shoes.

There was the barefoot jogging fad, what, ten years ago? Grown men running through seven-figure Bay Area cul de sacs totally fucking barefoot.

She is coo coo bananas. I get her mother insisting, but you can’t just leave her and go about the rest of your trip.

For the barefoot thing. I love running through a nice grassy field but def need to wash my feet right away. I generally don’t like shoes, but no way in hell I’m waking anywhere like that, barefoot. She’s going to get hook worm, or some type of worm. Lol
