You can just make out the tachometer. That’s a well appointed truck for its era.

Wow, that’s a pretty loaded one of these. My buddy had a pretty basic 1975 GMC Sierra that we modified into an oblivion as an off-road vehicle back in the 90s to early 00s. The interior brings back memories, although ours didn’t have the wood trim and it was a manual (therefore it had a tachometer). That thing was a beast, particularly after we broke both axles (at different times) and replaced them with 1-ton axles.

I’ve got a bit of a soft spot for square-bodied pickups and you’re not helping. I learned to drive a manual in one.

Reminds me of Todd’s Suburban. Probably similar vintage.

My grandfather drove GMC trucks of that era and earlier and when I was small, I could stand on the floor in front of the seat. I remember the tinny, echoey sound the doors made when they closed. Black truck with red seats...

I didn’t either. I was looking up the Beau James and stumbled onto the Gentleman.

They were handsome vehicles.

Larry’s car was a 1976 GMC Jimmy 2WD. This one is 4WD, I believe...

There’s one for sale for 15K on Craiglist with a camper.

No mention of mileage on the odometer anywhere in the listing.

No, but it is very clean. It doesn’t look like it is driven much. I have never seen it around here on the roads.

Trims like this are why I enjoy the high end cowboy trims on current half tons. Give me a King Ranch or High Country over a Platinum or Denali any day.

I wouldn’t want a Platinum or a Denali because wanna be.

Very well appointed. Cloth bucket seats, woodgrain trim, carpet, full instrumentation, body side moldings, radial tires, radio, automatic transmission. Probably easier to list what these didn’t come with.

I like the tachometer. Doesn’t give the engine displacement though.
