Haven’t been on here for a while... but the most important update of all is that I finally have my permit now (well, got it two months ago), meaning that I can legally drive cars/automobiles/vehicles/moving conveyances! So here’s an S3 that’s parked like a BMW.

He’s hoping that maybe the four rings will add up to a roundel one day.

If there’s only two handicapped spots and a van ramp, how else am I supposed to park in three spots?

See this a lot at work. The person parking in the spot figures they don’t need the ramp space so why not park in it and protect their car. I’m not sure what to think about it. They are probably right, but I dislike such blatant disregard for the rules.

I see this with the elderly a lot. My grandmother—bless her heart—needs her license revoked as she’s incapable of parking without taking up two spots in her severely curbed Prius.

sm70- why not Duesenberg?

I’m amazed how many people with handicapped placards don’t realize that those stripes are not just so that they can park however they like: they are for wheelchair vans to be able to extend their ramps. When someone parks like this, the ramp may not be able to fold out and the person may not be able to get out of their van.

You are way overthinking this.
Judging by the angle, they just whipped in and said f—- it. There was no thought about protecting the car, if there had been, they wouldn’t have left the ass of the car in the parking space.

Or they just open their ramp down the side of the car in question.........
Saw this happen at Applebee’s once. I thought it was great karma.

VIN came out as a 2015 S3 Prestige... perhaps a new front clip?

Anything’s possible, but that would require a new front bumper and headlights too, as both designs changed. The LED headlights are about $1500 for each side, so that’d be an expensive upgrade. Maybe they wrecked it and the cost to upgrade to the facelift was negligible.

Right. That’s probably what happened. I recall seeing a base BMW 320i on sale that had a full M Sport body kit (not available on the 320i in the US). Turns out it was involved in a major accident and I presume the previous owner decided to change out the exterior body panels for M Sport ones.
