P Zero Trofeo R’s. I guess I could spend this year’s Pell Grant money on a set if I really wanted to..

My advice: any leftover Pell Grant money, sock it into life savings.

Why do you want these tires?

Things I want, can afford but shouldn’t. It’s only like 2K for a full new set plus bag.........Want. And more lessons.

This is the best advice and really what I should do.

Your case is a more accurate description, could but really shouldn’t.

What about cheaper sticky tires like nankang ns2r or federal rsrr’s?

That’d be way too sensible.
I really don’t even need tires, I’ve just been looking for something to do to my car.

I want the Pilot Sport 4S for my Solstice, but my friend is talking me out of it, since the tire shop talked him out of the PSS. AS3 or DWS seems to be a better daily tire when it comes to wear.

Unless you are at a competitive time trial, you can have just as much fun on cheaper and less grippy tires. I’ve got some nice Falken Azenis 615k+ for non-competitive track stuff and they are great. Wear like iron, grip well, and are super communicative.
If you are just looking for outright grip, get some Hoosiers. There are a number of series that sell qualifying tires cheap so you can get a number of sizes of really sticky tires for much cheaper than supercar tires.

I really just need to wait and then when it’s time I’ll probably end up with the same 255/40R19 P Zeros that come stock.

But supercar tires are cool..
I can’t see myself spending that much on tires either. My P Zeros only have like 10,000 miles and one track day on them so they should last me through the summer.

This was going to be my point - you can have plenty of fun finding limits on lesser tires. Also, I don’t have a car that can really benefit that much from rubber like the Trofeo R.

I still rock some wooden clubs from when I played golf in school.
I couldn’t hit a ball straight if my life depended on it, but I got lucky enough to clear a rather large water hazard a few times.
For every 20 balls I hit across it, I probably only landed 3 or 4...

I have some money saved, did 4 years in the Air Force and am now using my GI Bill to finish up school. It’s always hard not to want something else for the car though.

I know the feeling. Right now I’m paying off my Line of Credit that I used to pay for car registration, and on top of that, need to start saving up again. I barely have any savings.

Allow me to just add a +1 for the A/S3s. I had a set on my Golf and just got another for my WRX to replace the summer tires it came with.

You may not be missing out too much, depending on your intended use. I have a set on my 280Z. They are fantastic fun on the track and warm summer roads. The best handling sports car race-use tires I’ve had yet. HOWEVER. They are completely unrealistic for daily use if you have any sort of a winter. You’re not even supposed to *store* them at or below 35 or 40 Fahrenheit, let alone drive them. Mine have been in the garage all winter, but I did not get to build the Arduino-controlled tire warmers, so now I get to see if they crack and come apart this spring after less than 1000 miles of use, because Colorado. They are street-legal, warm, dry, track tires. And while they are truly amazing at that, they are perfectly useless for pretty much everything else. Be smart. Save the money. Get the degree(s). Be patient. And, when the time is right, then go all out. The tires will be better by then, anyway.

i really need a whole new set, but im a lefty which means mine usually have to be custom ordered since Dicks and other sporting goods places usually only carry righty clubs off the shelf
