We went to the March For Our Lives in Atlanta today, and she was one of the speakers. I honestly didn’t know quite how talented she was in this regard, but she absolutely blew me away. Regardless your stance on the issue, there’s no denying it’s a great speech. I’m so proud of her.

Wow. She blew me away, too. Give her a huge hug, for all of us. Thanks.

I really and truly hope something comes of this and that people will wise up and not just bang on about the second amendment right to bare arms but everyones right to live without fear of being shot.
But I fear with the present government that may not be so.

I have spent the day listening to the speeches by the children who have been forced to be the grown-ups in a situation that is unthinkable. This speech, your sister’s speech, is amazing and touching and heartfelt and impactful and impassioned and far away the most moving I have heard. To be able to have this type of composure while delivering this type of message is awe inspiring and, perhaps more importantly, hopeful. And I am floored by her. Thank you for sharing this and thanks to your sister for her grace, her strength, her sense of purpose and her drive. Imagine if we all had this sense of purpose and this clear and well developed sense of right and wrong?

This is incredible, and thanks for sharing. She did a great job, and I heard so many similar speeches today. I can only hope that this energy makes some headway in this battle. My kids are 3 and 5, and it is one of my deepest desires that they can be safe in their schools as they go through elementary and high school, and beyond.
Let us all hope that some real change comes of this.

That was just great, everything she said was so true. My school had a “lockdown this is not a drill” and in that moment, I accepted death. It was only called because the power went out, but it’s something no person should have to think about. Just an amazing speech with so much power.

yes the issue is mental health. nothing will change until kids are raised right. guns have been around for a long time but have never been an issue until recently.
we do need to change how guns are bought and sold but banning guns would not do a dang thing and everyone knows it. Worked real well with drugs. Look at chicago. Highest gun murder rates and Illinois has some of the strictest guns laws in the US.
The second amendment was made to keep a government from gaining too much power and becoming tyrants. Maybe we need to teach that in schools again.
Or here is a novel thought. Armed veterans at schools. They have the training and some of the highest homeless rates.

Thing is, we’re really on the same page. Nobody wants to ban guns. We just want to keep them in the right hands.
