The Defender is trespassing on someone else’s property.

So, a car made in Alabama, a car made in Czech republic, and a bucket of rusty parts?

You called!?

Meet HUE aka Huey. The first production Land Rover (there is question whether she’s also the first prototype) and the oldest in existence.

Kinja'd!!!

The last production Land Rover Defender also got a similar licence plate in honour.

The cosseted city queens living on the driveway all shiny while the Landie sits waiting to get dirty.

I suspect the cars are sitting out exposed to the elements while $200 worth of yard sale rejects occupies the garage, and that palatial abode cost 7 figures of often sketchy money - exact scene is repeated a million times where I am.

It was a school zone. It’s normally on the street

Unfortunately I think garages have become inadequate for our growing cars. Especially in tightly developed townhouses like these. Throw in a shelving unit on the back wall as many do, and your car will no longer clear the roller door.

Those SUV’s barely fit in that driveway. Are neighborhoods with actual driveways only common in the southeastern United States?

Truth! Cars keep getting bigger, yet garages keep getting smaller. That’s one upside of having a 30 yr old house.

Nah this is unusual for my suburb. But the land is directly across from a school and demand called. They’re cramming 8 of these townhouses into what were 3 standard house blocks before.

Thank you for letting me know! I was in DC suburbs in 2013 and all of the houses are thin townhouses with no driveways.

That makes some sense, there’s been a lot of bloat in the past 30 years, and pseudo-butch mallcrawling SUVs/CUVs weren’t a thing then.

My grandmother is the original owner of a house from the early 60s, with the luxury of a 2 car garage. I am not sure how 2 normal sized 1961 cars would have fit in there.
