I came home excited to fix the Vespa exhaust with parts that arrived just before I left town.
There are two of these 6mm stud bolts that secure the exhaust and its gasket. One end screws into the engine. One is missing from when the exhaust blew off....I think you know how this ends. I thought I would just fire in a replacement bolt, reattach the exhaust, and VROOM! But remember that I am not a smart person.
You guessed it, Oppo, the sonofabitching bolt broke and was still buried deep in the sonafabitching hole. Yes, I have an extractor, but this fucking thing is really inaccessible, as is the way of Italian design.
This project will have to await my return, but I think extracting that bolt is not going to be a pleasant task. I need someone with telekinesis to spin it out of there.
As I posted earlier, I picked up the Sunchaser and discovered a vastly improved ride with the suspension work done. But man, I really don’t remember the car being this loud.
Goddamn exhaust. I am starting to feel that the universe is aligned against me and evasive maneuvers may be appropriate.

Would a left handed drill bit get it?

To be fair, exhaust didn’t look in the greatest shape. I’m sure they bumped it accidentally, but it’s like that time I had someone wash my car, and the chipping paint just let off a huge chunk.

Drill out the stud with an equal sized drill. Pick up a m6 helicoil kit.
I thought you said the shop wanted to do bilsteins shocks but you got kybs. Or was that a different place.
