Hmm, I wonder what my payment would be if I were to purchase this vehicle and pay it off, say, weekly?

I did find one Dodge Nitro in RWD format with a stick for sale too.
Talk about rare but not desirable.

If my name were Morong I would not put it on my business.
Also the dealership seems sketchy just from the thumb nail.

Didn’t someone on here recently buy a stick shift Nitro?

I guess I didn’t see the post if someone did.
Honestly, I did consider it briefly... but overall it sounded like it wouldn’t be as fun as a RWD tall wagon could be.

I see a Nitro Detonator on my daily commute. Looks like this:

It doesn’t have all the fancy bells and whistles that just end up costing money in repairs
This is one of my pet peeves in car buying. Well maybe not a pet peeve, but it’s curious and it annoys me. At least in new car buying, the salesperson spends all this time talking about how amazing and advanced the car is, but as soon as you sit down with the finance guy, he’s like, “Yeah, this is pretty much the biggest POS ever and all that stuff’s gonna break, so you’d better get this extended warranty.” Nah man, we’re talking about a Subaru here, not a Range Rover.

Lots, actually.
That being said, all the Magna/NVG T355 5-speed manuals they used are starting to destroy themselves. I had a manual with FWD that was truly, truly a piece of shit. I’m watching old forums for the Patriot, and it seems more and more of the 5-speeds are dying in one way or another.
But that’s okay! The other option, until 2012, was a Jatco CVT, and those have been even more problematic than the manuals.
Starting 2012, they switched to a conventional 6-speed automatic, which by all accounts are much better. Except for the high-end, FD2 AWD models, which still came w/ the CVT because of different gearing in the differential, and the incredibly low sales volume of this trim that wouldn’t justify creating a second diff option for an already-ancient platform.
The “last year” of the Patriot/Compass lasted about five years. some would say it was about 8 years too long.

I forget that this was the budget Jeep and the manual is cheaper.

I drove one a few times when I worked at a Jeep dealership. Even considered buying it.
You could. Only get the manual in the most basic trim. Didn’t even have power windows. Actually I think that was a Patriot. I liked the looks of the Patriot much more. One time I told a fellow salesman that the Compass and Patriots were the same car and he looked at me like I had theee heads and said “no one is all round and the other is square.”

Based on looks alone, I could drive that (in a different color).
It’s everything else about it that made me wary.

I can’t find it now but I remember seeing a red Nitro or maybe a Jeep Liberty or Patriot that someone posted as a kind of “I just picked this up, it was cheap. Oh by the way it has a stick.” Sure they are interesting as a RWD CUV with a stick but at the end of the day they are still late 2000's Chryslers.

Honestly, I could probably live with the interior quality, but there’s not much else to compensate for it.
If it came with a hemi... that’d be a different story.

I wonder how it compares to the ‘09 Corolla my wife used to have? That’s the worst car I’ve ever experienced. I’d imagine that at least the Nitro could provide a comfortable driving position.

Which Corolla trim? the base versions were jouncy at best due to cheap struts and suspension not playing well with the eco tires. IMO.
No, the Nitro was not even comfortable. Sitting still wasn’t even good in that car.

$60/week? How about $135/month if I check “very poor credit” on the calculator on their website.
That whole Craigslist ad is pretty much why everyone hates dealers and their sales staff.

I can’t really remember the trim, but I’m pretty sure it was a base or near base version. Jouncy, numb, uncomfortable, buzzing, lazy transmission, unresponsive engine.... Literally the only good thing I can say about it was that it got good gas mileage.
Maybe the redeeming factor of interior room and utility of the Nitro isn’t enough to make it better than that corolla, but I’d have to experience it myself to know for sure.
