...and did appallingly bad driving a P1 around Dubai and a few other courses.
The game doesn’t take kindly to keyboard input as it treats the button-presses as full-force inputs, so it thinks I want to do full-throttle or full-braking all the time. I started doing repeat-staccato presses to stop from spinning in uncontrolled circles (and burning through all my gas). I have some controllers somewhere, and I looked through a lot of my unused electronics, but haven’t found them yet. It seems best played with a wheel and pedals, though, which is a bit more than I want to get into right now.
I know I’m late to the game (literally), as I don’t play computer/video games as much as I used to - the joys of married life and home ownership. I’ve actually owned the game for a long time thanks to an old Humble Bundle. I didn’t play/download it because I could just never get Steam to cooperate and download stuff correctly, even on a desktop with a wired internet connection and sleep disabled. Or I’d lose interest and play something offline or that I already had installed off a disc.
I will say the attention to detail is excellent, especially coming from many recent Need For Speed titles where you don’t even get an in-cabin view. Of course, being almost 20GB (!!! I have not-that-old hard drives that could barely fit that!) it should be.
Any suggestions for courses, cars, tips, tricks, or secrets?

I’ve recently been getting into GT Legends on the PC. It’s a bit of an older game, but there’s not too many racing games out there that you drive classics (aside from Gran Turismo). But, like Project Cars, it’s best enjoyed with a wheel and pedals. Even with a controller it doesn’t drive all that well.
Dirt Rally on the other hand is fantastic with both controller and wheel/pedals. Well, by fantastic, I mean it’ll destroy you regardless.

I got fed up with Project cars and returned it due to the late campaign. The AI behave like aggressive players in the formula series racing, staying on track was impossible as I was getting rammed off constantly. I had no problem with the hatchbacks as it felt like real racing. The higher stuff was just ridiculous. Also I know with controller and maybe with keyboard there are indepth controls modifications, so you should be able to increase the “smooth input” setting to minimize jerking the wheel. I actually found this necessary even with a wheel due to the extreme sensitivity. Good luck

If you get a chance, definitely give PC2 a shot. The first game doesn’t play nice with a gamepad but the sequel is a wonder. As for car/track combos, the obvious choice would be some of the GT3 cars or the Corvette GTLM. Some of the moderately fast road cars and the Radical SR3-RS are good fun to throw around. Most of the tracks are a solid choice, especially when you throw in night time or rain.
