I need someone to recommend a mechanic with Ford certification and the ability to program ECM's.

Most dealerships in the Puget Sound area are asking for an arm and a leg when it comes to getting my hot-swapped ECM from another P7B Crown Victoria reprogrammed. Currently, there are no issues since both my car and the donor car are virtually mechanically identical.

However, I want to be able to get the ECM and ABS sensors (those were installed in my car from the donor along with the engine) reprogrammed with the correct VINs as well as verify that the engine profile programming is the correct one for a 2010 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor.

Can anyone make suggestions, please?

Any shop with a Ford scan tool isn’t going to want to give away their services cheaply. The subscription alone for the Ford software each month most likely costs thousands of dollars.

One of my concerns is that I’m not sure about the competency of the ECM techs. That’s why I need to find someone who takes it absolutely seriously.

Anyone that actually does any VIN matching stuff will know what they’re doing. The manufacturers have dumbed it down to make it really simple, and really hard to fuck up. All they’re doing it following prompts on the screen.
