This is a collection of photos I took yesterday of two 50th Anniversary edition Subarus, the WRX and WRX STI. Both cars were courtesy of Montgomery Subaru in Montgomery, AL.
Fun fact: the 50th Anniversary STI was purchased on the day by a gentleman from Michigan. He drove down in a 35th Anniversary Edition Legacy. It’s one of roughly 200 in the country.

TIL that Montgomery has a pretty nice Subie dealer. When I lived there in the 90s, I believe Subaru was the 8th or 9th brand listed on the Jack Ingram dealership sign, right below Eagle and Sterling (jk).
But srsly, Jack Ingram is where I bought my first car (‘95 Golf) and it’s kinda cool to see it being delivered to you amid a sea of Porsches and Audis.

It’s the best Subaru dealership in Alabama if you ask me. Jim Burke has a terrible customer service department and Koby Subaru is a little bland.
Never been to Jack Ingram.

They were the de facto Montgomery dealer for almost all imports back before those brands got big enough to get their own shops.
I have never heard anything good about Jim Burke, and in turn haven’t driven a single Subie since the bugeye WRX was new. Bad dealers really do a disservice to the manufacturers.

I went there while searching for the Outback and my mom and I stood in the rain and walked around in the showroom for like 30 minutes and no one offered any assistance. We went there recently for some maintenance and we made sure to tell them beforehand that we were pressed for time due to me having an afternoon class in the Vallo and they told us they had no rental cars to give us, and acted offended when we told them that we needed it. I nearly failed the class because I missed that day.

Plus they also dismissed a troubled wheel bearing as bad tires, if we wouldn’t have taken it to Montgomery the day after we would have been up shit creek

Well, I mean they only made a certain amount. They’re certainly more special than your average WRX.

Let’s make our special edition car the least aggressive color we can find. That’ll go over really well.
