I would love to see what the maintenance budget would be for the Hart 415t engine.....all 4 cylinders of it. I think I remember he welded the head to the block so they didn’t have a head gasket to blow out with all the boost.

Im sure it did. At best it did 700hp@11k. Thats alot for a 1.5 4banger to handle.

Another thing I remembered is the old miller/offenhauser sprint car and indy engine that survived all the way into the very late 70's. It had the cylinders and head all as one unit that would bolt onto the crankcase, designed as a whole piece so it also never had a problem with head gaskets and that’s what let it withstand so much boost and 1,000+hp by the mid 70's.
