Ooh yeah, just look at that early 90’s Toyota styling.
Or those sexy frameless windows on this Mark II.
SO. MUCH. WANT.

Agreed. Love me some 90s Japanese goodness. This post is where it’s at.

I too am in love with 90s FR Toyotas. Though my latest crush is the Soarer (aka the SC300/400).

I’d take a late SC400 all day.
I’ve seriously become a fan of Toyota’s more and more. Our household is only Toyota’s right now, with more to come hopefully.

I’m thinking about bringing over a UZZ31 Soarer (basically an SC400 with even more options, like a touchscreen with navigation and a backup camera) in a few years (I could get one now, but I have a car payment until 2020). The Supra was just the tip of the iceberg for what Toyota was really doing in the 90s and not telling us.

My parents bought a cherry 95 SC400 a few years ago. It’s a great car but I cannot imagine that car with anything less than the V8.

Yeah, the 300 always seemed like it would be underpowered to me. I am curious what the turbo 1J Soarers are like, but the V8 ones are typically cheaper.

A stock 1J makes similar power while weighing more (and pushing that weight farther forward in the chassis) than the 1UZ. More tuning potential of course, but stock for stock I bet the 1UZ just blitzes the 1J.

Probably, yeah. Plus there are supercharger kits for it. I want to bring over a 1UZ Soarer because they’re about the same price as an SC400 but generally with lower mileage. I just don’t know whether I want a UZZ30 (the base model with cloth seats and few if any options) or a UZZ31 (lots of options but heavier). UZZ31s have air suspension, so the first thing I would do if I got one would be to swap it out for a set of coilovers.
