The rest of my day is local, and I could not leave it in.
The shop I have been talking to is struggling already with my suspension. They can repair the existing worn out system back to a stock ride, but I was hoping to upgrade, and maybe even go adjustable. I have to do something soon, as the the current setup is too soft due to wear.
I would appreciate any suggestions.

I’d start by making sure bushings/ball joints/tie rods are all in good shape. That will take care of any slop and give you a good base to work from. Polyurethane bushings are actually easier to install and there are some very real handling gains through better/more consistent suspension geometry under cornering load, but they will also stiffen the ride some (particularity over expansion joints and smaller irregularities in the road). They can also squeak in some applications (although graphite impregnated poly bushings are better in this regard).
Good coil overs (ground control or similar) and some adjustable shocks/struts would allow you an unlimited number of options in spring rate (via standard sized springs) to find the ride/handling balance you want and also allowing you to adjust ride height and corner weight the car. Adjustable shocks will also additional tuning of the handling balance, as well the ability to soften the ride when not autocrossing/canyon running/spirited driving.

DIY KYB adjustable struts and OEM or slightly stiffer aftermarket springs. Upgrade front roll bar with something stiffer and poly bushings.
