This is a Kia Stinger. It’s a good car. Is it better than an M4 GTS? no.
I have one and I broke the rule of sim racing: don’t race cars you own.
Because it’s not very realistic is it? Reviewers complained about the stinger being understeery, it’s oversteery here and I feel it certainly neutral. Now I’m looking at my Stinger and realizing it can’t do those things. I also realized that that very dark blue looks absolutely gorgeous and I want to wrap the Stinger in it ASAP.
The Stinger also sounds much better on Forza than in real life, and much louder at every RPM. Also, the stinger I’m racing has Carbon Ceramic brakes and 482HP... not the standard steel brakes or 365HP. That’s why on that picture at least I’m ahead of a 707HP charger on Sebring. Do you want to guess how much horsepower was behind us?
Yeah... again, not the most realistic affair.

Here’s how they stack up against each other in Forza 7 on COTA.

On the other hand, it gives you a chance to drive your car in a place you’d never be able to drive it. Think I’ll ever be able to lap the ring in an E92 M3? Doubtful.
![]() 03/11/2018 at 23:07 |

Not with that attitude.
I wanna lap the Ranger around the Nurburgring.
![]() 03/11/2018 at 23:07 |

Yeah.... I guess it just clashes with my life philosophy of not looking at things I can’t have....
![]() 03/11/2018 at 23:09 |

I’ve lapped the ring before it was in a Suzuki Swift. Not sure if I’ll be able to find an E92 next time I go.
I was too young and too poor to rent an E92 then.

I would’ve never expected the Alfa to be 9 seconds faster than the stinger! But it does have a lot more power.
![]() 03/11/2018 at 23:10 |

Fair enough, at the same time it gives you something to aspire to.
![]() 03/11/2018 at 23:11 |
|
AHEM... I already
aspire
to something!
I joke... its just that forza leaves me a bit wanting to actually mod my car and I don’t want to mod it.... I MEAN it could use a Borla exhaust....
![]() 03/11/2018 at 23:14 |
|
I do like the M4 GTS tho....
But I had to race the Stinger....
![]() 03/11/2018 at 23:14 |

When I was an engineering student I aspired to do many things. Some came true, some did not. Some proved to be not what I wanted.
I want to mod my E90, but I don’t have the kind of funds I used to. Maybe in a year or two. I paid it off instead of modifying it.
![]() 03/11/2018 at 23:15 |

You need it. I justified my exhaust by reasoning that the titanium will never rust and will therefore save me money in the coming years.
![]() 03/11/2018 at 23:16 |

Paying it off was probably the smartest thing to do.
What are you thinking about, a big ol turbo kit? /jk
![]() 03/11/2018 at 23:16 |

Ah. That was my bad. It was at like 2 AM. The Giulia was 02.38.774.
![]() 03/11/2018 at 23:18 |

Here’s the updated one.
![]() 03/11/2018 at 23:18 |
|
Have you heard the Borla stuff? plus it’s not that expensive for what it is... I think.
Really I want to mod my stinger in weird ways, I wish I could get the calipers in brushed metal instead of “look at me red” and instead of four exhaust tips I want two huge oval ones.
![]() 03/11/2018 at 23:18 |
|
Forza has the 1978 trans am SE and none of the great colors it came in, which really dissapoints me because I can’t make anything close to my car. also the interior bezels are all gold which doesn’t match alot of colors. Why it isn’t just a standard T/A is beyond me.
Mine is pretty realistic though. floaty and slow.
![]() 03/11/2018 at 23:19 |
|
I want an exhaust and some wheels for it.
![]() 03/11/2018 at 23:19 |
|
Oh... still... think how modified my Stinger was that I beat the M4... in the second hardest AI setting...I know that’s not very impressive but still.... something.
![]() 03/11/2018 at 23:20 |
|
Mine are all bone stock.
I fucking hate the homologation.
![]() 03/11/2018 at 23:22 |
|
The Veloster was quicker... Man... that’s disapointing.
![]() 03/11/2018 at 23:23 |
|
Oh, the system is very wierd.
Also for some reason I cannot log into Xbox live if my console is set to english... nevermind that I kept it that way because its easier to use internet guides that way

I did consider the Borla Attack (Attak?) For my car but ultimately went with the Tomei titanium system. The Borlas do sound real nice from what I’ve heard, definitely seem like quality products.
![]() 03/11/2018 at 23:24 |

I drove each according to how they are in real life.
The Veloster had ABS on, manual with clutch, and every other assist off.
The Stinger has ABS on, manual, and every other assist off.
![]() 03/11/2018 at 23:24 |

I mean... it sounds quite well from factory... but there’s always room for improvement...not sure I follow on the wheels though... I like stock rims on cars... not a fan of aftermarket there.
![]() 03/11/2018 at 23:26 |
|
“The system” is the homologation....
Yeah... I mean... it’s wierd cus in a circuit with so many straights you’d think the more powerful RWD car would smoke it!
![]() 03/11/2018 at 23:26 |
|
I don’t have that problem as my car isn’t in games and looks like it never will be with Toyota not really licensing their road cars out anymore.
![]() 03/11/2018 at 23:27 |
|
I mean... I won’t mod it probably... It depends on how much money I earn and how willing my family is. As of now I only want the wrap but I distrust the “metallic” wraps out there. I already have one mod and that’s the “Stinger GT” removed because I thought it was tacky
![]() 03/11/2018 at 23:28 |

why aren’t they? how dare they think we don’t want to thrash a v6 Camry?
![]() 03/11/2018 at 23:29 |

Does sound good from the factory, but some aftermarket just sound that little bit better.
I would go for a different set of OEM wheels, quite partial to style 359s.
![]() 03/11/2018 at 23:31 |
|
Do get those... those are amazing. My favorite M wheels are the Comp pack wheels for the M6 thought.
Yeah... some adjustable baffles could work to keep the car commute friendly.

Did you try it on Gran Turismo? Haha. I love racing my car in Gran Turismo (6). In part because my car isn’t currently in condition to be raced in real life, so... :/
![]() 03/11/2018 at 23:32 |

It’s really a shame since they’ve had some fantastic road cars. in Forza 6, an MR2 was my go-to just basic track time car.
![]() 03/11/2018 at 23:34 |

Nah it’s more like
![]() 03/11/2018 at 23:38 |

I really liked GT4, but I’m a forza fanboy... i’ve had every copy since Forza 1
Except forza 2... that was a disaster!
![]() 03/11/2018 at 23:51 |
|
Fair enough. I’ve been a gran turismo fan since growing up on the original. So many hours... one of the things that got me into cars. I had forza for 360 and actually really got into it, but ended up giving my 360 away and getting PS3 to play gt6. Love that game. Nostalgia and genuinely teaches driving technique!
![]() 03/11/2018 at 23:59 |

Yea I almost exclusively run my car in Forza. Idk why but it makes it way more fun. I don’t care if the other cars in the segment are faster .
![]() 03/12/2018 at 00:11 |
|
I don’t believe my car exists in a single sim or sim-adjacent game, actually.
The previous generations exist in the GT series, but the current one doesn’t warrant inclusion in GT Sport, and it never made it to GT6.
That said, I’ve driven the Miatas in Assetto Corsa. The NA8 feels more understeery than a real Miata. The ND feels bang-on perfect compared to the NB1 I had - just on the understeer side, with the ability to provoke oversteer with the throttle, and easy to catch.
![]() 03/12/2018 at 00:14 |
|
The Miata is the probably the best all rounder in Forza... you can spec it almost across all the ranges and still have a very competent car.
but yeah, sometimes they fail miserably in making the sims realistic... For instance, they always showed off how they used a tesla roadster to synthesize the tyre noise but that was in Forza 3 and they still use that old sound that today sounds kind of like from an old era
![]() 03/12/2018 at 00:17 |

Idk my Foxbody handles and reacts pretty similar in games as it does in real life. No driver aids at all and if you give it too much gas it’ll do a burnout all the way down the road. Best part for me though is that my car actually sounds better IRL.
![]() 03/12/2018 at 01:12 |
|
What do you drive? It seems like Gran Turismo has the exclusive Toyota license now.
![]() 03/12/2018 at 01:18 |

My car exists in Forza but they’ve left out the all important MAZDASPEED spoilers that came on the Miata Club as well as some miscellaneous trim changes Mazda made after they sent the car out to the magazines for test and evaluation. It’s not a big deal, but I wish they would at least add these bits in the Upgrade Shop.
Gran Turismo Sport has a more convincing replica of the ND Miata but it’s the 1.5 ROW spec car, which is a shame, since I’ve always wanted to build a fully dressed race-spec wearing the blue taped on numbers.
In any case, it’s more fun than the real world equivalent since I don’t need to pay off the car in Forza or pay for servicing. SLIDE THROUGH ALL THE CORNERS!

Anything specific you want to do to the E90?
![]() 03/12/2018 at 06:14 |

Mainly exhaust and wheels.
![]() 03/12/2018 at 06:23 |

Which M6?
I don’t commute in it, it’s basically strictly a weekend car now. I will be living a lot closer to work so it might see some weekday use.

The F06 with competition package has sick wheels!
![]() 03/12/2018 at 09:08 |

Gasp! Cars in a racing video game that aren’t prototypically accurate because the developers don’t do their research!
Color me shocked! Shocked, I say!
Okay, maybe not that shocked. Game devs have been known to be increasingly lazy in the past decade because of the drive to increase profits with the least amount of effort possible. This has resulted in trash racing franchises.
![]() 03/12/2018 at 09:09 |

yeah, last time Forza was improved in the physics department was probably Forza 4
![]() 03/12/2018 at 09:14 |

A 4Runner. Forza is the most likely one to have it because of all the SUVs
![]() 03/12/2018 at 10:28 |
|
Ah, yeah I don’t see 4Runners being added to Gran Turismo any time soon.
![]() 03/12/2018 at 10:50 |

I just love using Forzavista to look at it closely and see how accurate they got. Also, it’s nice to try and “test” wheels and springs and visuals. But yeah driving them made me kinda sad

Also people don’t want real these days. The mass appeal of the NFS franchise is what they’re going for, and that’s barely if ever been based on proper realism.
If the masses
don’t want you to put in the effort
, why would you?
