A local pawn shop had a portable 2TB HD for $40. It was out of warranty by nearly a year and was a model made to sell at Walmart, two red flags right there. I made sure to ask about the 7-day return privilege, and was told that everything is now sold as-is, but if I wanted to pay an extra 5% I could have that one-week warranty, 10% for two weeks. Pass. Even fricking Goodwill offers a 7-day return on electronics. I expect this to backfire on them, but I’ll never know since I don’t plan on returning.
On the bright side, now I no longer have a need to go out of my way to get to this store...

Yeah, not worth it. If someone isn’t willing to stand behind their product, especially for electronics, it’s not worth giving them business.

I did get one good one from them and also one in horrid condition. I’m batting 500 right now, but that’s still not good enough for me.

I don’t understand how pawn shops make any money.
The prices always seem to be too high, and I’m like I KNOW what you bought that for. Especially guns. They ask more for used guns than you could buy a new one of the same model for at BudsGunRoom.
Then there’s the tools. You want $75 for a cordless impact driver, that you don’t even have the charger for? That you gave $20 for, to the person that likely stole it in the first place? “How about no” is right
