My first car was a 92 Camry. I wanted a V6 coupe so bad. Especially what 3rd gen Camry enthusiasts (yes that’s a thing) call the J code. So called because it’s built in Japan not in the US. Apparently you could order a V6 coupe win a manual trans but it had to be a special order so they’re super rare. And the car had to be almost assembled in the US plant, and then shipped to Japan to have the transmission put in because the US plant didn’t install them. So because final assembly was done in Japan it got a J in it’s VIN. There was one guy on the Toyota fan forums that had one. His license plate even said J CODE

It’s very possible that this is just a ledgend but I didn’t care I just wanted one.
