[Final Plan!] Chicago Oppo Meet!

Despite the weather, we are still planning on having the Oppo Meet on Saturday! Just check road conditions and plan accordingly.

Plans have been finalized (for the most part).

When: March 24 at 10 am

Where: Gateway Classic Cars in Crete Illinois

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

Friends and family are more than welcome to join.

Full Plan:

Meet at Gateway Classic Cars, wander around, take pictures, talk cars, get to know each other, etc for about 2 hours. We’ll then have lunch (most likely) at the Culvers right around the corner. After that, weather depending, we’ll go on a cruise to who knows where (any ideas would be welcome).

Unfortunately I will not be there. The 24th is the day I’m supposed to pick up Laura from Pennsylvania. :/ I guess I’ll have to meet up with some Eastern Oppos on the way home.

Bought it last fall. I was working on it a little today. If look closely at the pic, only one of the number plate lamps was working. Turned out 3 of the 5 wires in the boot lid harness had been cut by rubbing on a sharp edge at the hinge. I’m pleased to say that’s repaired and the boot illumination works now too!

Any way you can confirm that others are okay with going even though it will be snowing? I don’t mind the weather, but I’d hate to drive the 5 hours up only for nobody else to show up because the weather scared them off.

I have no problem with that. They’re pretty much equidistant for me. We could do some diecast shopping at Volo too :)

I’m not sure that the forecasters can be that accurate two days out, tbh.

But it really doesn’t matter to me. I know there was one guy who really didn’t want to go to Volo.

Biggest issue is making sure EVERYONE knows to go to Volo and not Crete - they’re a million miles apart, so anyone that heads the wrong way will just bail.

I’m good either way - but might be a few minutes later if it’s Volo.

same here, I live close to Kankakee and we’re supposed to get 4-7 inches. I’m thinking of moving it so other people don’t have to try and drive in it if they don’t have to.

I googled it, and I’m an hour from Volo, 45 minutes from Crete. I can’t really leave any earlier (I have to drop off my son with my inlaws first), so I could be in Crete about 10, and Volo around 1015-1020 or so.

They’re a few of the Never Again kids from Stoneman Douglas High School. Tomorrow is the March for Our Lives. I’ve never been to Illinois and I’m not doing that march, either, but I saw March 24 and thought of that. Stay woke!
