I have changed many tires in my life, and I temporarily grew a full beard instead of my usual goatee this winter to keep warm. But I shaved it back to a goatee last weekend because my wife hates the full beard. It’s still cold though.

I gotta say, discovering beard balm is the primary reason I now sport my full beard year-round. No more itchy-scratchiness going on, no more dry skin and beard dandruff (beardruff?). Plus it smells great.

Now if only I could teach my beard to change a tire...

if you have a manual

clutch in and shift into first.

with the clutch still depressed rev the engine close to, if not at peak power.

quickly let off the clutch and immediately get on the brake pedal to stop the vehicle from moving forward while also maintaining the proper engine speed to prevent stalling.

hold the brake until the proper tread depth is achieved.

for an automatic

put in the lowest gear possible.

depress the brake just enough to stop the car from creeping forward.

mash the nuggets out of the accelerator.

I have a beard and I’m trying to do all the beard related hobbies. Brewing beer, smoking meat, and building a car frame in my garage.

Shame my beard will never look that good though. At least I have beer, bbq, and a welder.

I’ve had a beard since I got out of the Navy in 1989 and I had one in the Navy until they banned them. Most of that time they weren’t fashionable but being both too lazy to shave and weak of chin I kept it. Then it became a thing . Beards appeared everywhere and they were groomed and manicured to such a degree that it would be easier just to shave every day. I’ll be glad when it cycles back around but until then I refuse to both shave and to trim my fucking beard for an hour every morning.

Well I live near SF so you don’t have to tell me the lumberjack hipsters have beards! I’m a jarhead, I won’t it against you! ;) I did have a beard in Afghanistan, they let us grow them, but I’m blonde, so a viking in the Istans doesn’t really help.

Oh no, the hipsters in SF always say they don’t drive. I asked someone a question about parking and they just said, oh I don’t drive. They all take those awful ubers and ride fixies. The uber and lyft drivers do the stupidest shit, I don’t recall ever having these problems with legit taxis.

I think about 25% of SF has moved to Seattle in the past few years - finishing the destruction of local real estate markets that people from LA started 30 years ago.

But if they are into the lumbersexual thing, they will be at home here. I am pretty sure I am in a minority among males at work by being clean shaven.

Yeah I only had the beard when I was deployed, I sometimes wish I could grow it but with the current trend I would never do it! I guess I could since I don’t wear those clothes or balance a knitted cap on the back of my head, wtf is that??

Lifelong PNWer, never had facial hair, can’t stand it on me or others. Going 2 days without shaving drives me nuts. I definitely wouldn’t grow it out to be “different” or “unique” - not much different when 2/3rds of your friends and co-workers have the same look. Add the longshoreman’s cap to top it off.
