The !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , the Oppositelock 2 Hours of Sebring, is two weeks from now on Saturday, March 24th at 4:30 PM EST. If you’d like to learn more about the series, click the link and get all the info. Or, if you’ve already read the plan but haven’t signed up yet, !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .

If you’re not racing with us, many of us stream the races on twitch, the links for which will be posted on race day. A list of streamers from the previous round can be found !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!

Also, instead of using parties or gamechat, we are going to be using the Oppositelock Racing/Digital Burnouts Discord to communicate during the races. If for some reason we are not using the app or it fails, we will be using gamechat to communicate, and hoping for the best. !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!

Sorry for not getting this out earlier this week, been crazy busy (again). Regardless, the votes are in! The vote for the date was really close again, but the winning option was the 24th at 4:30 PM EST . Make sure to note that this at an early time than all of the previous rounds (sorry to everyone in Australia/New Zealand). This also shares a date with !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , which will run at 8 PM EST that same day, and y’all should totally race in that too. This puts the race a little more than two weeks out, which gives just enough time for you to practice and me to finish BoP (which I’m starting this weekend). You can follow !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! Any builds that change will be highlighted, and I will provide a full list of cars that have been given new builds once the BoP process is done. Also, by popular request, I’m adding the 1973 Pontiac Trans Am to the car list .

As for the other polls, the most popular option for weather was by far real world conditions . So during testing be sure to put in some rain laps just in case the weather in Sebring on the 24th is bad. I’ll announce the actual conditions for the race an hour before the start based on the weather forecasts. For race starts and restarts, we are going to be doing TORA style starts now. Basically, the field rolls at 60 MPH towards the line and each person goes when they individually hit the line. So the field does not go all at the same time. Only when each car reaches the start/finish line do they go. It has worked well and minimized crashes in other series, so I have no doubt it will work well here. For race timing, we will be using a lap counter now. So, we’ll keep completing laps until the timer hits the total race time (2 hrs. for this race), and once that time is reached everyone will finish their current lap and park in finishing order in Turn 1. The race winner will then complete the remaining laps so we can get credits. This has worked well in RIGTC so it should work well here.

Of course the changes to race procedure will affect the consistency of the series. After all, if the final lap of Daytona and Watkins Glen were completed the results could have been very different. While consistency is important, I’m running this series with openness to evolution, just like the first OEC back in 2016. That series actually underwent major rule shifts for the Sebring round as well (anyone remember the Teamspeak server?). There weren’t even cautions until the 8th round of that series. My point is, if you all want to see changes, I can make them happen. After all, this is as much your series as it is mine.

Look for more reminders for this race over the next two weeks. If anything changes before the next race, I’ll post about it there first.

Hope to see you there on race day!
