True story, I once fit a King size mattress inside my E30, in the back seat.
It was a 2-door.
I still don’t know how I managed it. Or how I got it out.

This is how I plan to be once I retire.
Whipping around in an E30 M3 filling it with my golf stuff/tools for weekend projects. I can’t wait.

The most confusing part of this is the recent NC plates in Southern California.

Could be to bypass CARB.

That’s why hatches are awesome. I’ve been to Home Depot with the Z, the back hatch area is like a small pickup and you can get lumber through from the passenger footwell to the back, just open the hatch a bit and tie it horizontally.

I didn’t even know an E30 has the interior volume to contain a king size mattress.

Very tightly folded and banded, yes.

How did you know ruin said mattress in the process.

This is why my 3 has a roof rack.

It’s crazy how many people do that kind of stuff, but if I lived in Cali and owned an old car I’d just have it registered in my FIL’s name so it could be registered in WI. no inspections ever. Could get messy is your ever want to file an insurance claim tho.

It came tightly packed like that (“mattress in a box”). Cut the bands after I got it into the bedroom, and it unfolded almost violently into its proper shape.

I met a retired couple once who get commercial licenses bought a big Volvo sleeper semi and now they run one route twice a month from Wi to California. They go together, take turns driving, and make a good living. That’s some damn smart SEMI retirement.

Right? I felt bad for the little thing, truck bouncing on the ladder, I’d be willing top bet he’s got a few new scratches.
