Even though my E46 always has something wrong or broken on it, the one thing it does well is get me places quickly. You wouldn’t think so for something over a decade old with just over 200hp, but the confidence this car inspires when you drive it leads to you getting places a lot quicker than you anticipated. It also helps that the E46 (or at least my example) is very composed at speeds in excess of posted limits. There’s no way I’d cruise at 85mph in my old Cherokee, but my 330Ci makes 85mph seems like 60mph.
So, what’s your car good at?

The Saab is good for quick rolling acceleration (not the fastest thing to launch), twisty roads, and loose surfaces.
The Alfa is good for cruising with the top down at anything up to about 65mph, and tight cornering.
The Audi was good for what you said, setting the cruise to well above the speed limit and blasting down the highway in absolute quiet and comfort.
The Lexus was good for being comfortable and detached (too detached for my liking), hauling lots of stuff or people, and driving over shit.

The Talon - It’s good at looking drop dead sexy. It’s good at trying to kill me, thanks to over 300hp that hits fast in a front wheel drive. It’s dead reliable and fuel efficient too.
The Mirage - It’s good at being reliable and egregiously fuel efficient. It actually has some good amenities and features. It’s quiet, rides well, and gets me from a to b; albeit slowly.

Apart from the obvious reasons (speed and handling), my C5 is great for cruising on the highway. 70mph roughly equates to 1500 RPM’s and 30+ MPG. 90mph uses up a bit more fuel, but it still rides like it’s just purring right along. Plus it’s definitely comfy enough for long drives.
My Cube is good at carrying 20 bags of mulch and never having broken down, that’s about it.

No surprise, it’s pretty good at handling winter driving in nearly any conditions. Also pretty good at hauling tools or music gear or a few friends and outdoor stuff. So pretty much what it was designed for.
With a stage 2 tune it’s also pretty good at confusing mustang drivers when a 2 tone outback can keep up with them, or for getting laughed at by people who think I’m just spouting BS when I say I have a fast outback.
What it’s not good at: handling anything beyond sweeping turns and getting better than 20mpg

My car is very good at driving very fast (on a track), very easily. I know this sounds very weird, but theres no snap oversteer/understeer, there’s no weird slides or spins, the car gets up to speed good, but the cornering, the cornerning, ahw mai gaddddddd.
High speed corners is where it shines. Long, winding turns, it just stays planted like nothing else, and this is without any coilovers or extensive suspension work (alright, alright, I did replace the engine mounts by much stiffer PU examples and replaced every rubber component by a stiffer HardRace part, but still).

Not giving a rats ass about pot holes and speed bumps. That’s why I stuck with 17" rims despite having 32" tall tires. After the sway bar, new shocks, and rear shackles, and new tires it handles decently enough. I still want to get a tuner to wake it up and make it shift better. Man, the amount and diversity of stuff I’ve done with my truck is huge. It can carry five people in comfort, and six in a pinch. I’ve filled the bed with wood, dirt, all manor of tools and construction materials, scooters, construction debris, scrap metal, wood chips, gravel, sand. It can fit my whole family and tow a camper all day happily. It can chew up highway miles like nobody’s business. For the last twelve years it has been my noble steed, by side through anything and everything. No matter torrential downpours, or snow storms (I don’t need no 4-wheel drive!). No matter the precious cargo in the back, both of my daughters came home from the hospital in it. No matter how hot or how cold it is outside. No matter how much weight I’ve asked it to move. It has always gotten us where we needed to go safely and without drama.
Crew cab short bed trucks get a lot of crap in the Jalop-o-verse, but those who insist that all trucks should have a regular cab and a long bed are just narrow-minded. My truck is not the best tool for any job, but it can do so many jobs well. My truck is the vehicular rock of my family. I can get away with all sorts of RallyMetro shenanigans and whatnot, because I always have my truck at the ready. Paid off, reliable as the day is long, always ready for battle. Is it as easy to DD as a car? No. Is it as comfy on the highway as a Buick? No. Can it pull as much stuff as a long bed or a diesel? No. But it can do all those things, and do them quite well.

(2010 Honda Fit) Panic stops. The front disc/rear drum setup is perfectly adequate for street driving, and full-ABS emergency braking on wet streets takes places with about as little drama as you could expect from a subcompact car.
Also, hauling people and things. Four large adults can easily fit comfortably, although that kind of mass hampers the car’s performance slightly.

For a longer time, I figured I had ruined it by installing the harsher engine mounts. I succesfully removed all the squaks and rattles and went on track with the car. It is phenomenal! Turn-in feels so good, so confident, I admit, its far from a Caterham or a X-bow, but its really not a hard-to-handle car on track.
Let me put it this way, naturally, you need to know, to some degree, what you are doing on track, but I am far from a professional track racer and I find it a delight on track.

To make it worse, I can confirm for you (having seen them race at Brands Hatch) that ‘65/’64 Falcons are very fast and quite capable even if only set up with period mods. Part of my desire for it springs from a love of the vintage race cars, especially after seeing a Comet and Falcon at the Laguna Seca historics last year. There’s a guy in SoCal who only works on old Fords (English and American) who is all about these, the pictures I’ve seen him share on those Instergams are so, so good. Lots of late night Youtube sessions are spent watching such things. The idea of a hot-road set up 4-door Falcon V8 is really appealing.

Sometimes I’ll do the opposite of merging without signaling. If someone jumps out from behind me to overtake, and doesn’t signal the maneuver, I like to flip on my blinker as if I’m about to cut them off. I don’t move out of my lane though, I’m just indicating to show them what a turn signal looks like, and what it feels like to be lied to.
