I’d probably pick the Mazda B2200 with the Lancer being an honorable mention.

Miata, it’s been extremely competitive in SCCA rallycross RWD categories from stock to modified.

I didn’t see a whole lot, but Saab pre 2002 would be awesome.

You already know my answer. You won’t even care about winning because you’ll be having the most fun. These things are amazing track machines.... But even more fun on terrain where they “don’t belong”

Plus it will be the cheapest to run, repair and upgrade as needed.

The Saab has an incredibly strong chassis that’ll take a lot of abuse.

The cheapest one to keep running would probably be the B2200 or the Saturn.

TheMiata is the cheapest way to possibly be competitive, but check with your local organization to make sure they allow soft top cars to run. Not all do. You may need to get a roll bar installed.

The Lincoln is the coolest by a wide margin. Keeping it and it’s air suspension going could prove difficult and expensive. It also won’t be competitive. You may not care about that (I don’t, the RallyMetro is the slowest car on course, but you can’t wipe the smile off my face.)

I wouldn’t get an AWD car to start with. Lots more stuff to break and fix.

Personally, I’d go for the pickemup truck.
