I feel like a SuperGT version is far more likely.

But the LC500 is barely 2 years old. If this is GT300 (likely), then it has to be a replacement for the Prius, so it’s region-locked.

Unfortunately like many of Toyota’s auto show debuts, this looks to be just a concept. From Global:

“Last but not least, Toyota will also reveal a modern racing concept which signals its commitment to bring the brand’s most iconic sports car back to the market.”

BBS rim looks like its right off the LC500, although the class is dominated by Yokohama with only Nissans running Michelin.

Interesting nonetheless. Would be fun for this to go against the new Vantage but like the Brits, there’s no real factory representation stateside.

The wide front flares and aero behind the rear wheels just looks much more SuperGT than GTE to me. I don’t think the GTE regs let you play with the fenders much more than a bit of widening and this looks more aggressive than that. It would also be rather strange for Toyota to enter a car they developed alongside BMW to compete directly with the new M8 GTE.

That said the fenders I am seeing do look rather similar to the fenders on the Lexus GT3. These days GT300 is mostly made up of GT3 cars so it would make sense for them to design something to replace the aging Prius GT300 that also allows them to sell to teams for use in Blancpain, VLN, Pirelli World Challenge, and the numerous other GT3 series around the world. The Lexus GT3 was developed by 3GT specifically for IMSA while a true customer racing program to battle the likes of Audi, McLaren, BMW, and Mercedes really require that the car is developed, produced, and supported by the factory.

That’s my call for now, a GT300 car built to GT3 regulations with a likely customer racing program for teams in Europe and Asia.
