PSA Group bought Opel just when the Insignia/Regal was launching on the market. Now Peugeot is getting ready to launch the 508, a competitor for the Regal/Insignia.

Kinja'd!!!

The Group is in the position where it hopes their Peugeot car takes away buyers from their Opel car, to avoid paying royalties to GM on each sale.

It’s funny how they make sedans more attractive, only after they have become a dying breed.

Kinja'd!!!

Anyways, Peugeot will certainly be a nice addition to the US car market.

Never thought I’d say this about a Peugeot sedan, but WOW!

I’m not sure if I like Peugeot’s handheld shaver for a shifter...

PSA is in a weird situation now, with its legacy GM-era Opel/Vauxhall models and tech. I’m sure they make money selling them, but not as much as they would selling their own cars. I expect that they’ll phase out everything related to GM relatively prematurely. Those GM era cars are decent but not better than what PSA builds, so nothing of value will be lost.
