The trim below the ST, the Zetec S (only available in Europe), got significantly better looking wheels. They are symmetrical, which is opposite of the trash we get here.
The symmetry is nice.

A lot of designers insist that asymmetrical or odd-spoked wheels are better because they convey a sense of movement.
I’m not sure I agree, but I do know that 4-spoke wheels (old MR2, Xterra) drive me nuts.

I used to hate 4 spikes and then one day I looked at a Mark II Supra and went, “Yes. That is the answer.”

They got some nice wheels, the five spoke and twin five spoke are really nice, others are okay.

*hands you a doll*
Please show me on this doll where the mean wheels with an odd number of spokes hurt you.

The number of spokes should match or double the amount of lugs. Basket weaves are exempt.

WHERE THE FINISH FLAKES OFF AND THE LUGS DO NOT LINE UP WITH THE SPOKES.

I don’t like 5 spoke wheels unless there are 5 lugs for them to line up with.

I don’t want to know where that is on your body.
And the odd number of spikes is fine on cars with an odd number of lugs. Mine has 5, so it’s fine. I see your point where they don’t match up, but I would argue that the number of spokes needs to be a multiple of the number of lugs. 4? 4, 8, 12, 16, etc. 5? 5, 10, 15, etc.
