I have always been so cautious, because I can see how that would be such an easy mistake to make. It’s an even easier mistake to make when you don’t want to be on the call, and don’t plan on actually listening to what’s going on.

somewhat apocryphal, but back when laptops were first getting built in cameras WebEx would turn them on for meetings. supposedly caught people working from home off guard.

I got scared seeing myself on video working from home. So I stuck a piece of electrical tape over my camera.
