I would star your post, but I wouldn’t want it to be misconstrued as an endorsement of that hotel.
They could have at least wet-vac’d the carpet after the last homicide. Jeesh.

I once flew into San Jose on the day of an iPhone announcement. My pre-reserved hotel in San Jose actually cancelled my reservation and refunded my money. Chain hotels don’t do that, but individually owned hotels will do that. I ended up staying in... Salinas. It, meaning the hotel, was horrible. It was like a very run-down version of the room in your pictures. After the first bedbug bite, I went to sleep in my rented Prius. I did end up getting a refund on the hotel room. Prius isn’t too great for sleeping in though.

I had to travel to Williston, ND during the boom for a property inspection. Obviously no one can get there and back in a day but hotels were booked for months because workers were living in them. I ended up driving from Denver and camping in a CCC campground a little over an hour away because it was seriously the only available accommodations. I guess for $8 a night one can’t be too picky.
(Disclaimer - I generally like camping, I just really enjoy the opportunity to relax in a hotel when I’m traveling for work. That place you’re at? I’d rather be in a tent.)

That looks like any pre-2000s hotel room I’ve ever had the displeasure of staying in.
Modern ones are the same only the theme is different. People wonder why I always pay extra to get the best or get a suite (even though the extra isn’t as much by a long way to what they think it’d cost, lol).
I don’t stay other places much so when I do, I push the boat out.

When I used to have to travel to a certain mid-sized town in Texas, the preferred hotel was whatever was the newest one.

That picture brings back memories of how that smells, unfortunately.

I bet that was installed in more like ‘03. That kind of carpet got popular for a brief time.
