With some attention our floppy, unable to stand, sad little lamb has perked up. He may just make it to full sheep status yet! Cuteness overload videos below...
We’ve discussed his appearance and symptoms and the knowledgeable breed experts seem to agree that his issue is most likely that he was a few days to a week premature. That would also explain why his mother’s milk wasn’t flowing... He wasn’t expected for a bit yet. In any case momma has been too long apart and doesn’t believe that he’s her’s so he’s gonna spend a few days in the house getting stronger before he goes out to the barn with the other sheep, and he’ll be bottle feed untill he’s weened.

How long does it take to ween a lamb like that?

About a month and a half, by the time they weigh about 30-35lbs they should be eating grass.
