I took a phone interview for a frac consulting job in Colorado two Mondays ago. Well, they called me around 5 today to offer me the job. There was just one caveat, they wouldn’t be moving me, I would live where I am now.
This also makes 2 for 2 on phone interviews I drink during; ironically both for oil and gas jobs in Colorado.
I quit my job here on the 14th, and that is definite. I accepted a job in Greenville SC, but I have no idea what the fuck I’m going to do.

Nah, I would work in the field and they would fly me out there. That said, my old company had a service where you could monitor the frac from anywhere. They used to have an app and I had a log in, but I could never make it work.

Yeah but you would travel all the time right? That’s tough on the personal life.
Though you could probably still move to Greenville and work from there (or anywhere) right?

I would travel all the time, but I might be able to swing a personal life. I could always move to Greenville.
Right now, it’s looking like I take the Greenville job.

Probably cheaper overall to do it that way. A 3br house out here is over 220/sq. Ft. Now. What they can pay you there and pay to fly you out combined is probably less than paying someone who lives in CO cause the cost of living (mortgage n rent) demands a higher salary.

They were more worried about me having stuff to do at the office; this is oil, you pass the costs on the consumer.
