Not here dummy! this is the safety image!
Here:
I see a strong, principled, worried young adult that might be suffering from PTSD being used as a banner by some comedian from New York.
Emma shouldn’t be targeted much less should “for president” be written under the photo.
Does she even want to study political sciences? Ask before you post! She might not want in to that world. What if she wants to be an engineer or a geologist or literally anything else!
Plus, she’s a highschooler, so now I bet that about half of the comments say “stupid liberal says a girl without experience should be president” or shit like that about a person that perhaps doesn’t even take interest in politics
Abusing of her speech, her strength... shame on you Llana.

I think exploiting kids during tragedy is wrong, even if it does help a good agenda.

Her running for Sheriff might be more immediately useful.

Exploiting kids to promote an agenda is wrong. She’s just lived through an awful tragedy, there’s no poking fun or making light of it. If she wants to say something, let her. This entire incident was politicized way too quickly.

She’s running for sheriff? I can’t find any info on that!
If she is as smart as her speech makes me think she is, she’s going to study before running for public office.

Man, I find it repulsive. Llana could’ve written anything else about Emma and it would’ve been more adequate. Just presenting her speech without that text bar would’ve been excellent.

Sherrif!
I just wanted to use a pop culture reinforcement to your post to reiterate how a single individual representing a minority can make a lasting difference.

I’m still hung up on the beetle with the Italian flag on it.
Emma was the safety image for me.

They could use someone brave in that department.

You just triggered me.

I’m guessing the SRO was instructed to not enter the building. He also would have only had his sidearm and since he was outgunned by the shooter, he may have decided just to not go in based on that fact and waited for backup.
With that being said, I would have gone in there gun drawn and done what I needed to. If I was taking too much heat or if the situation was too risky, I would have figured something else out and at least help evacuate and clear rooms. He should have done something though.

I would be quite surprised if that was the case.

Which part?

If you’re talking about telling the SRO to not enter the building, that’s plausible.
As an example of something like this, occasionally with extremely reckless vehicle pursuits, they will be terminated at the discretion of the officers in pursuit or the dispatch. This is done in the hopes that the suspect will drive less erratically if he knows that the police are not right behind him. That’s just an example, a mass shooting is obviously very different. I’m just puzzled why the SRO would’t do anything.
I’m not sure where the shooter was in the building and where concentrations of shooters were, but if this knowledge was known through 911 calls and reports, they may have advised the officer to not move in as that could have led to shots being exchanged between the Deputy and shooter that could have further jeopardized the students. Or a hostage situation. It just depends on what information is to come.

The “don’t engage the shooter” part.

At least we found the one kind of young man the cops won’t kill.

Well, I’m not sure if Dwayne Cammachoing on the response would have worked.
Either way, they got him in the end. Could it have been prevented? Yes. Could his shooting spree been shortened? Yes.

I am of the opinion that the cop had better odds than the JROTC detachment

There is no doubt about that.
I would have defied orders even if they said no, but it’s 100% his job to be in there and he wasn’t.

The SRO was suspended without pay, and subsequently resigned.

Good to know.

I see a dumb post.
I mean, she’s obviously not 35. Can’t be prez.
