Car cybersecurity job

I’ve been working in cybersecurity for just over 2 years now, and decided to try to apply for a job way above my skill level Senior vehicle cybersecurity consultant with a major car company. I wasn’t expecting a call back, or anything at all really, but they’re intrigued with my background in physics and math so they offered me an interview!

I’m excited and nervous because never in a million years did I think I would be even remotely qualified. This would combine my two great loves, my car and InfoSec

Good luck! Just be honest about your shortcomings and offer ways that your experience and education may help you approach the job from a position of strength as compared to other candidates.

If you don’t mind me asking, what kind of cybersecurity work are you doing currently? I’m currently working on my 4 year degree after taking a year off to work after getting my 2 year in the field and planning to hopefully get into pen-testing in the future.

I work for a really small tech company, so i have a hand in all kinds of infosec related work. I’ve done pentesting, 24/7 SOC work, malware reverse engineering, etc. I’m currently working on a new proof of concept for a DNS exfil attack.
