I want a cat so badly! But if I got one it would be bringing back that xbox remote I lost under the couch 4 years ago.
Living in an apartment does rid you of mice.

What’s wrong with shrews? Usually people don’t like rodents as they gnaw things.

It already looks relatively tame.

Does he eat them? When I had cats one would kill lots of mice and birds eat the head and leave the body, a few times he brought still living birds inside which was fun. The other one killed mice almost exclusively, but she had no interest in eating them. She pretty much tortured them. Catch it then lay down with it between her paws, if it tried to run smack it back. Until it would die.

Pretty much the latter. He’ll play with them, finish the job, and sometimes disembowl, but I haven’t see him actually eat. He even prefers dry food to wet, which is shocking.
Plus he poops outside. Pretty much the lowest maintenance cat you could hope for. And a great personality — push him over, rub his belly, no complaints. Just purring.
