Flesh on the other hand is fragile like glass, and will be totally destroyed under similar conditions. Just a thought.

Hopefully after the singularity our robot overlords decide they still need us around for manual labor or just to harvest us somehow.

And robots are stronger than (most) guns that are owned by civilians. And could be used by, say, a leftist authoritarian regime to, say, take away all the guns by force. The futures’ gonna be great!

Why don’t we just put a human inside that steel alloy thing you describe?

The conditions I described would leave the steel alloy thing in good condition, but would still cook the human.

Do you think BD products show a dangerous future?

This is the United States of America, not a Tom Clancy novel. There are no ‘regimes’ here. If the government is empowered one day to confiscate guns, it will be because it’s citizens have empowered it to do so. Not because an imaginary dictator who happens to conicidentally be aligned with your political enemies has seized power somehow.
I know it’s great fun to masterbate to the idea of you and ol’ roscoe going up against a gubmunt full of all the people you hate, but it really is time to let go of the idea that owning a weapon can even a tiny bit prepare you to fight the United States. This is an organization that can track your wearabouts whenever it wants to and can drone strike you from thousands of miles away, and that’s just one of many other options they have for dispatching someone against which you have no defense. You are no match for even the local police force, nevermind anything else beyond that.

We definitely have more of a mental health/basic socialization problem than a gun problem. Even someone with a vendetta will kill one/several of their enemies, not just a bunch of randos. I place most of the blame on the Internet for facilitating a deadly combination of division and seclusion.
And it’s hilarious that people think guns will allow them to overthrow the government. Just not gonna happen. But it does make the citizen response absolutely terrifying for any country that would wish to attack our mainland. Because there are just so many guns with people that know how to use them.
I think these robots may be used for good though. Imagine how few fatal police shootings we would have if the robots were executing the take-down. Without risk of an officer’s life, there are generally no other reasons given for responding with deadly force. Knowing America though, we’d consider the robot to be the same as a living, breathing officer and train it to shoot anyone that points a gun at it....

my friends boyfriend worked for BD. crazy part is things were usually kept under raps till patent stuff was approved, so they proobably have much newer designs already.
