This week marks the second week of approximately 19 (or more) weeks that I will be spending in Dallas for work. While I don’t really mind being on travel (meals paid for, not commuting, not putting gas into my cars, saving up extra money) it kind of sucks to be away from my normal life and all the car things I normally do. Anyways, over the next couple of months I definitely want to try exploring Dallas more while I’m here weekdays and do more car stuff. I’m home the majority of weekends but I’ll probably end up stuck here at some point out of convenience.

Anyone familiar with Dallas? I’d like to know where some good go karting stuff is that I could do on a weekday after work. I also absolutely need to find some night time pickup soccer or ultimate Frisbee since all I do here is eat and be lazy.

Happy to be heading home for the weekend to my STi, my Miata, and my girlfriend!

Well, I live here. I don’t do muck Karting, soccer, or frisbee myself, but I do know one place for indoor karts, and I know where the parks are. There is one frisbee golf course on the NE side. I know lots of other stuff worth doing.

DKC carting is pretty good, but you really need to go in a group to have much fun. Our autox season is just starting, you can find all the events on: http://dfwautocross.com/

I’ll be at pretty much all the events in my BRZ, I might go to the track on March 10 and definitely will be on March 31 out at Eagle’s Canyon Raceway in Decatur.

It’s strange how I keep finding doppelgängers here on Oppo. I just finished the second week of an indeterminate-length work assignment, but mine is in Houston. Frisbee? I love it,but more on the disc-golf side.

Definitely interested in whatever there is to do around here. I’ve eaten plenty of good food so far but that kind of gets old to me. I’m not always going to have my own rental car but on weeks that I do, I need to solve my stir crazy by exploring a bit.

I also enjoy disc golf. Needs to get a bit brighter in the evenings before I find a course but I’m thinking next week I might as well at least bring my set if there’s one within 15-20 min of the hotel. Thanks for reminding me about disc golf, it’s been a while but I do love it.

Mmm the Karting place is a bit far due to traffic but certainly worth considering if traffic isn’t like LA and is sometimes better lol. If I’m stuck here on a weekend, I’ll definitely try and get a rental and do an autocross for sure. Wouldn’t be the first time haha.
