My wife volunteers at a farm sanctuary where ex farm animals get to hang out and just chill and be taken care of by thoughtful hippies. Even with the Wisconsin weather they still like playing outside.

Would this sanctuary happen to be along County AB, east of 90? Work brings me to Madison once or twice a week.

Yesterday I drove past this, and HAD to turn around and take a picture for Mrs. WithTools, resulting in a significant squee.

It’s in Verona just south west of Madison.

They have one miniature horse that shares a pen with a donkey and a sheep. Sometimes the horse gets a little bitey.

Ha! I started yesterday in Verona... well, ok, I started it at home in N. Illinois, but started my work day in Verona.

I’ve been told that donkeys are kept with other animals because they will confront - and beat the crap out of - any predator that happens to wander in. (I have no personal knowledge in this field!)

Guard donkeys are supposedly a real thing. I’ve heard of them chasing down and kicking coyotes.
