I’m going to be visiting Family in NC this summer. I’d like to have my own car, because duh. Plus Raleigh, cheapest place to fly into is 3 hours from the beach house we’ll all be renting. This would be about 15/day more than a “Chevy Cruze or similar” but that seems worth. There’s also a few Mustangs, and 3 Series Convertibles for a similar price, but for a family vacation this seems better.
Plus it’s highlighter green!

Where in NC are you going? I lived down there for about 5 years. If your beach house is on the northern end of the Outer Banks, you’ll find some chances to drive out on the beach, and that Jeep might come in handy.

That’s pretty far from the northern part of the Outer Banks, but the beach is so much better where you’re going. We used to go to Atlantic Beach next to Emerald Isle a lot. The only downside is that there isn’t a lot of fun driving in that area. It’s all pretty flat.

Not surprising, but it’s means the Mustang definitely wouldn’t be worth it.

Small world I live in Raleigh and am from morehead. Also I’ve almost rented that jeep as a bday gift for my wife. Seems like a pretty fun trip. Do it!

You could probably find some pretty desolate roads up there, but nothing with a lot of fun corners.

My friend has a nice beach house in Emerald Isle. The roads are honestly all flat and straight, and I didn’t see any opportunities to go off-road anwhere. Go with what’s the most comfortable TBH.

Im actually doing the Turo thing for the first time next week, but in Scotland. The only downside Ive noticed (as some have pointed out previously), are the limited miles. Apart from that, I really do like the assortment of vehicles offered compared to your every-day rent-a-car places. Im going for a Land Rover Discovery Sport as an anniversary gift for the gf.

Done a few Turos, and no problems so far. But I’d get something with a suspension, like the Mustang.
