I believe the backdrops should be moving.

I always try to find something that is fitting to the car. But doesn’t have the car blend in too much. I like industrial areas for modern cars, and old buildings or a field/forest for older cars. (Fields and forest generally work as a neutral background, unless you’re taking pictures of some super mo dern city car.)

Any place where you know the car’s owner was like “Can we please hurry up?!”
Urban alley with graffiti, abandoned warehouse, or a Honda Accord (with Sport wheels) parked just about anywhere.

My pictures are nearly always “engineer’s pictures” so I guess nothing would be my choice. Very rarely I try to get something interesting in the background. Maybe derelict city areas would be my favorites after nothing.

Usually the ocean somewhere along the Pacific Coast highway. Ideally around sunrise or sunset. Sure makes taking a decent photo easy!
