Smallest I can remember flying is a Super 80 from Fresno to Nashville. We shall see how 2.5 hours on this are bright and early tomorrow.

Its okay. If its the -900, the floor is just a bit lower so your shoulders fit into the curve easier. If its a 700 or less it kinda sucks.

CRJ900. My mom flies a lot of weird routes visiting other auto shops and said it’s not that bad of a plane, even when not puddle jumping.

I sat in seat 1B some CRJ for my flight to a second round interview from Atlanta to Shreveport. I enjoyed that flight. The flight to Atlanta via Memphis was not at fun, mainly because I was super hungover. The first leg was on another CRJ, but the flight from Memphis back to Atlanta was on a 737, and my hungover ass had the middle seat.

I love getting a seat right next to an engine. What wonderful music it makes!!! Plus in an especially catastrophic uncontained failure I can examine the metallurgy with my skull! :O

I love the CRJ900. Uses a civvie version of the engine found in the A-10 and I find it to be remarkably comfortable for such a small space.

they’re not terrible - they fly fairly well, and are also pretty quiet if you’re toward the front.
Seats are cramped, though for that long of a ride - - I’m 5'9" 175 or so and I’m OK, but if you’re much bigger it’s tight.

5’11” 195 so it might be a little cramped.

The aisle is your friend.

I don’t get to choose my seat but luckily there a 60% chance I get an aisle and 30% Janice I get an aisle and a window. This could be the perfect plane for most people.

How many seats are these? I’ve flown on an ATR-72-600 which was small and kind of hilarious.

Those are not bad. I’ve plenty of trips on them between FCA and DEN and SLC and SFO. The toilets are tiny tho. If you can sit towards the front that is more desirable as the engine drone in the back is loud and you may end up right across from the toilet.

I thought it was a 2-1 but it’s a 2-2. Maybe just under 90 seats I think

Yeah, and 0% chance of getting a middle seat -that’s the best part.

I thought it was a 2-1 but that must be first class/ a 700. There’s a 100% chance I get a window or a aisle. Perfect.

It’s not worse on the noise front than an MD-80, but the seats are a fair bit smaller. Then again, they’re not meant for long hauls, so you should be able to tolerate it.

Gotcha. The ATR-72 is aptly named (72 seat arrangement).

Fun thing about the ATR-72 - they load it from the back and the front at the same time. Otherwise, it would tip over.

It’s like a 737-Max!
