If you don’t, I’ll bet you live longer. Example: all the cabinets in the kitchen look like some variation of this. The perimeter of the shaker-style face is the same everywhere...
Except... one... area...
The first photo is of an identical tower, yet all the faces are correct... Theory? The second tower was ordered incorrectly and someone is hoping the buyer will never notice.

They probably won’t notice. Hell, the installer might not have noticed. And then someday they will notice ... AND NEVER SHALL IT BE UNSEEN!!!!
Those are garbage cabinets anyways.

When my mom remodeled her kitchen it was amazing how incompetent the cabinet people were doing take offs, measurements etc.... They were all about the handles, finishes, and drawer types. And yes they to screwed up the drawer finishes and had to reorder and replace several.

You think you’re triggered now. If I can remember to post a pic of my bathroom cabinets when I get home, you’ll need a straight jacket.

Reminds me of a recent furniture delivery we took. I was like, “something is off about this”, but couldn’t place it. I then notice it and start swapping drawers on the dresser trying to get them to line up, but there was no arrangement that worked. Basically, the person assembling it had flipped one of the boards when assembling one of the drawers and there was no way to flip it the right way after it was all glued together. They offered us money, but I see it every time I look, so I insisted it be replaced. Thought it would just be a drawer or two, but they are going to replace the whole thing... Trippy.
I mean, the gap on the bottom right bugs me, but I can deal. The problem is that the lines on the upper left and upper right drawers don’t follow and I can mentally flip either one to end up with a straight line...

Low bid never ceases to amaze. What are we all looking at and complaining about?

You’ll, uh... “appreciate” this. Spotted yesterday at a beautiful home, with questionable renovations and landscaping. The deck is fairly new.

My parents live in new construction and have had over 50 visits in the first year (by the builder and his subs). Almost all of it is stuff that I couldn’t give two shits about in my 1970s house.
There’s a certain mental and emotional freedom with owning used things. You just say “eh, that’s okay!” and move on.
But not in something brand new. Over the past few years I’ve become convinced I’ll never own a new home or (another) new car. Sweating the small stuff is your duty, and it sucks.

This is an architectural representation of Aesthetics In Motion and I’m quite disappointed you don’t understand. The deck railing flows naturally in to the banister post.
Duh.

Don’t think for a moment the PNW has the dubious home improvement market cornered :)

Look at the moulding in this corner of my apartment. I’m actually kind of impressed how closely it lines up with the shadow from the light in the other room.

Okay, here is one of the kitchen cabinets. Not too bad, right? You could ignore that for years, couldn’t you!
Now here’s one of the bathroom cabinets.
I’ve seen these every day for 17 years.

I’d share pictures of my own home, but there’s not enough memory on my phone to document the countless flaws. But thank God for those flaws because I’m not sure we could have afforded any other home at the time...

I’m traveling for work. Here’s a few shots of the shoddy workmanship in my hotel room.
Here’s what happens when you don’t remove the excess caulk from the edge of the tub.
Next up, a towel rack installation gone wrong. I guess the third time is a charm. At the very least, they could have removed the reference marks.
I think the installer of this soap dish left his level at home.
The workmanship on this counter top leaves a lot to be desired. I noticed the exp os ed wood first, then my eye drifted to the surround. He either had an old, dull blade or he was using a rip blade instead of a fine-tooth finish blade.
