IS A LIE
Seriously, where’s the front brakes and suspension bits??

“They said the brakes were regenerative....now where’s the “Regenerate” button?”

Seems pretty reasonable that they’d strip off anything that they could.

IS THAT BRAKE DUST OR DID WE JUST HIT SCOTTIE’S ASHES?

They simplified and added lightness.

I’m not sure why though. Isn’t this supposedly capable of carrying way more than a Roadster into space?

The tires don’t have any grip in the vacuum of space, so the brakes wouldn’t work anyway!
Also brake rotors are heavy.

Likely removed to try to balance the mass of the payload. A Tesla wasn’t exactly designed to be launched on a rocket.

You really get a great view of the flat earth from here...

Likely removed to try to balance the mass. They didn’t exactly have launching it into space on a rocket as one of the original design requirements.

Holy shit.

I’m sure anything that could possibly explode when exposed to the vacuum of space was removed. Things like gas pressurized shocks, hydraulic lines, real tires - all gone.

I mean, it fits on my computer screen, which is flat. So there. What more proof does anyone need?

They should have put in some small motors to spin the wheels, at least for a little while.

Pretty sure that, at the speeds it’s travelling, brakes wouldn’t help.

That’s clearly Suitcase Jenkins in that car, it’s a cover up.
