It might if you’re looking at a phillips screw, but definitely not if you’re looking at a JIS screw. You might be looking for a JIS driver, such as a Vessel Megadora . I’ve got a set of them and they’re fantastic.

You may be able to use a phillips driver but don’t force it, as the shape of a phillips is designed to cam out and will easily destroy a JIS screw.

JIS drivers work on both JIS and phillips screws. Phillips drivers only work on phillips screws.

A JIS screw can be identified with a dimple:

Not sure if woosh or not.

The driver says CR-V on the side of it because it is made of chromium-vanadium steel. Not because it was designed for a Honda CR-V.

I do appreciate the knowledge imparted. I never knew of the dimple to indicate JIS.

At least I can be somewhat helpful if not totally oblivious.
