Screenshot via Porsche’s immense online selection of models.

Porsche sells 23 variants of the 911. 6 variants of the 718. None of these variants are naturally aspirated convertibles.

Kinja'd!!!

Here’s a 997 GTS. Porsche someday may come to their senses and return to natural aspiration, but for now we don’t get great sounds with a warranty.

I mean, it was an entirely logical move to go to turbos.

But convertibles are emotional purchases!

Buying a drop-top vehicle is never 100% logical. There’s always the passion component, and a naturally aspirated engine is what some passionate enthusiasts naturally aspire to.

I mean, yeah, fuel economy and torque are cool, but lots of recent reviews are saying that the new 991s are just boring to drive. Too composed and solid in handling to be enjoyable. The raw edge of a naturally aspirated soundtrack would make the car much more fun.

Sorry for the rant, my MR2 has spoiled me with an intake right behind my ears. Car sounds are just awesome...

Next you’re gonna tell us that none of them are wagons...

Hahaha yup...

Actually, I challenge you to name a naturally-aspirated wagon by any brand that’s on sale in the USA today.

Go on, I’ll wait...

Don’t worry, any day now, someone will think of piping synthetic engine noise into the cabin speakers.

Porsche can’t compete with American v8s. not to say they are better engines, but the displacement has been going nutso, and Porshce likely doesn’t have the cash to update the flat six how they need to.

I think turbo sixes are fine, and a very underrated and underrepresented engine type. Thinking about the noble m400, new ford GT, jaguar xj220.

NO

Please no.

Don’t remind me they do that.

Fake noise!

I’m a bigger fan of 6-cylinders without the turbocharging, mainly for the sharper edge to the exhaust note. Not that I’d be unhappy with an XJ220 ( beautiful car) but I think the 991.2 GT3 sounds much better than the Turbo models.

You see, Porsche has improved on the wagon front.

Alright, you win.

Kinja'd!!!

But it’s a crossover :/ They advertise its ground clearance.

Subaru would sell like 3 of them if it wasn’t lifted.

Also, Buick Regal TourX , but they don’t sell the NA V6 with the wagon bodystyle.

Isn’t the new Boxster Spyder going to get the 4.0 GT3 engine? Porsche leaves no variation unmade

It’s a Pyrrhic victory though. Many wish it had a turbo engine.

Shhhhh, it’s okay, aftermarket exhausts are your friends. I adapted, and so can you. :)

That said, the 718s sound fine to me stock.

Kind of a missed opportunity for the carrera T now that I think about it. That would have changed that car from a “that’s a nice option” in the lineup to truly the car to have.

Kinda awkward that of all models designations the “T” would be the turbo-less

Not that I can afford one anyway.

I find the 718 amazing cars, and if I had the ability to pay for one and I lived somewhere where it wasn’t unsafe to run around a Porsche, Carrera Silver would definitly make the short list.

Thats true. Name might not have worked but the lightweight, drivers car aspect would have fit a naturally aspirated engine well.

If that rumor is true, that car is going to be amazeballs...

I assume the next GT4 would get it, too (hopefully leading to steep depreciation on the originals!).
