You should enjoy it now that it’s properly aged. Like a fine bleu cheese.

Don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone about your DIY penicillin lab. Your secret is safe with me.

Maybe scatter some chia seeds? A green interior would look upscale.

Me to myself for the last few weeks:
“I should start the truck, maybe take it for a drive”
“....nah it’s rainy and gross, I’ll do it later.”
Yeah, lesson learned.

That really sucks, was it your windows or do you have a sunroof?

Maybe the windshield seal, maybe a plugged drain at the base of the windshield that I can’t find, maybe a body seal at the front of the rain gutter....

No sunroof, maybe the windshield seal, maybe a plugged drain at the base of the windshield that I can’t find, maybe a body seal at the front of the rain gutter. Should be fun to track down...

That sucks. When I de-fungi-ed my Camaro some Woolite stain and odor spray, water, a stiff scrub brush and a bunch of elbow grease did the trick. It helped that it only takes a few minutes to pop the seats out of it.

Sprinkle baby powder on many surfaces, stick it under the hose, find the runs.
I dug my daily out of the snow and fired it up for the first time since Thursday. Discovered I no longer have heat. I suspect it has something to do with the coolant smell the Saint started having that mysteriously went away a few weeks ago.

It’s all coming from the firewall/behind the dash, I can tell that much...
Oh god that’s a lovely thing to discover during the winter. My Blazer’s blower fan finally dying in the middle of the winter forced me to fix it, that was an awful job.

My Cherokee looked like that about a month ago. It spurred me to finally fix the leak and get the front diff repaired so I could actually make it a driver again. I felt like I’d been a deadbeat dad to the poor thing.

Mine also needs manual hubs, one of the front sway bar brackets fixed, and probably a weber swap. I’m hoping to do all of that this spring....

I’m getting close with mine. It at least moves now. Still needs: VC gasket, oil pan gasket, oil filter adapter o-rings, rear main seal (yeah, it leaks a lot of oil), rear pinion angle adjustment, a new driver’s seat, a charcoal canister, and a few simple cosmetic repairs. I’m hoping I can daily it again starting in the spring... Its 15-17 MPG trumps my Suburban’s 10-12 MPG for commuting, plus I don’t care about racking up miles on the Jeep, but I kinda want to keep miles off the Burb.

Don’t you live somewhere warm? Nah even in the warm it’s an annoying job. I remember first reading the directions and going “wait, you’re kidding. I need to cut what now?”... Yeah I didn’t glue the piece back in.
Fortunately I did all the aggravating electrical bits of the heater this spring. I’m really hoping it’s just low coolant due to leakage. It’s been low on coolant since I bought it... only time I’ve seen coolant in the overflow was after running up the coastal mountains at around 45°C with the A/C going, I just never bothered doing anything about it because it never got close to overheating. So the solution for now is just to pick up more coolant and top it up, see what happens. I just keep forgetting to do that before the parts store closes at 5pm.

I don’t know that my XJ can do that... self-ventilating floor pans being self-ventilating and all. I really need to figure out what to do with that thing... very much a deadbeat dad to it.

Warm compared to the rest of Canada in the winter, but 1 or 2 degrees in the pouring rain is pretty prohibitive weather.
Yeah I couldn’t believe the instructions either. Supposed to remove the passenger side fender for easier access, I just cut more of the plastic away...wasn’t pretty.
Well hopefully it’s just low coolant then

At some point they changed something that made it unnecessary to remove the fender, and 2001 is after that. But I do remember encountering that. No for me it was just pulling the ecu and coolant bottle, which was empty before I started and I never bothered refilling it cause it didn’t seem to be having issues. Then taking a knife to it. The “cut here” lines really bugged me, cause it was like “wait, you did this on purpose?!
But I did fix the heater... by adding a gallon and a half to the system. Now that it’s topped back up I can smell the antifreeze again, but it’s not dripping. It’s something I’d like to address before it becomes a massive issue but there’s only so much I can do if I can’t see a leak anywhere. And I refuse to use a stopleak, even in a $250 POS.
And, I’ll just throw it out there that barely above freezing in pouring rain is something goretex will address. It’s when you have to take your gloves off for something below -30, that’s when it gets bad. Metal tools are no fun to grab in the cold.

I never had to worry about it with my old XJ... It was totally rotted. That’s why I want to keep this one nice!!!
