Trains are fine. It’s the contact with big unyielding things that’s the problem.

Because they operate many of the passenger trains? Just to put deaths of passengers ( as opposed to deaths of trespassers, suicide and at level crossings) into perspective there were only 158 in the forty years up to 2015.
