My all time favorite on his Grammy-winning album, DAMN. He doesn’t rap about the usual dumb shit (see “Lil Pump” eye roll) and is today’s best lyricist.

I actually like this song too. People just think he’s talking about killing himself and don’t listen to the full song. But this song I posted is only my favorite from Kendrick’s DAMN.

What are you listening to by him? Imo his best album is good kid MAAD city, but I believe it’s best to listen to it after listening to section.80. There’s some songs in good kid that reference experiences he goes farther into depth on section.80. To pimp a butterfly and DAMN are good but to me good kid MAAD city is a masterpiece. Especially sing about me im dying of thirst.

He raps about hardships and what’s wrong with society and people as a whole, and how things can be better. He uses words that sound basic sometimes to delude those who can’t see the deeper meaning behind it. Its only for some people, not everyone.

I really like DNA and Humble. Not a fan of the rest of that album though, pertinent as it may be. I appreciate what he writes about, but musically I just can’t get into the other songs.

I should probably give his other albums a listen if you say they are better.

I really dig Aesop Rock. Most of what RTJ puts out is okay by me as well. Not sure if that helps at all?

His songs are a bit confusing musically, but that’s what I like about them combined with his powerful lyrics. HUMBLE. And DNA. are also good songs, but HUMBLE. is a bit overplayed and DNA. never plays much on my playlist for some reason lol. Also, this was stuck in my head all of yesterday haha

Because more people tended to like it than he expected. He thought people might not be ready for it, but instead it was well received and ended up winning a Grammy. Even he was surprised lmao
