If any of you remember, and I’m sure a few of you will, back in the original Top Gear there’s an episode where Jeremy Clarkson sets a lap time in a video game and then tries to replicate it in real life. He fails of course.
It’s season 7 and I think episode 6. I know for sure however he was driving a Honda NSX, on a PS2, and went around Laguna Seca in 1.41 and change playing Gran Turismo.
In real life he did it in 1:57.
Honestly it’s not that bad of a time for a car that age.
I have a 1992 Corvette and I’ll be on the track at Laguna Seca tomorrow. I also have Forza 7 at home that has a 1995 ZR1 as a playable car which is way, way faster than my car when new, 26 years ago. I drive that car in the game for giggles. Who wouldn’t?
I’m faster in real life than I am in the game.
However I just got down to 1:49 in the game and that’s faster than what I’ve set before I’m real life with this tugboat. I’ve got a 1:55.3 record but I’ve also got a new brake system which sees it’s first test tomorrow.
Fingers crossed I’ll be posting video of a 1:48.9 lap tomorrow evening. I want to keep the Reverse Clarkson alive. Virtual me be damned. I want to be faster in real life.

I’ve never even thought about this, but I spend a lot of time virtually driving into virtual walls, so...
I’m curious to see how this turns out!

Please do it much, much more slowly in real life, you.

Thing is that, in GT4, he drove a virtual Honda NSX- R , while in real life, he drove the Acura NSX... normal.
But aye, congrats!

Session #1 so far and I’m down to 1:54.31 and don’t feel like I left a lot of time on the track

Oh I saw the headline and figured you punched a co worker and it got you your job back.
